Jeff Procter-Murphy

Jeff Procter-Murphy

Jeff has been the driving force behind LtQ. Visionary, videographer, photographer and video editor, he manages the company and oversees production and marketing. Jeff is passionate about communicating the gospel message to all, especially those who've been wounded by the church or have otherwise washed their hands of organized religion.

An ordained United Methodist minister, Jeff currently serves as pastor of Via de Cristo UMC www.viadecristo.com in North Scottsdale, AZ.  Via de Cristo offers honest and stirring multi-sensory worship experiences in the round. From 1993 to 2011, Jeff served as pastor of Asbury UMC, one of the most diverse churches in Phoenix, AZ, known for its justice-oriented ministry of reconciliation and recovery. Prior to Asbury, he served Methodist churches in Mesa, AZ and Anaheim, CA.

Jeff grew up in Phoenix, graduated with honors from the University of Arizona and received his master's and doctorate from the School of Theology at Claremont, CA, where he counts himself privileged to have studied with John Cobb, Burton Mack, Rolf Knierim, James Sanders and Howard Clinebell. He is a leader in his annual conference, having served on various boards, committees and camp staffs and twice as an alternate delegate to Jurisdictional Conference. A leader in his community, Jeff was a founding board member of the Greater Phoenix Interfaith Hospitality Network (Family Promise), a volunteer-based ministry that provides fellowship and transitional housing to homeless families with children. Jeff is a founding member of No Longer Silent: Clergy for Justice, www.nolongersilent.org, an inter-denominational group of Phoenix clergy organized to provide an alternative voice to the Christian right around homosexuality and the church.

Jeff has been married to Janice since 1989 and they have two daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, bicycling, music and travel.
